My first post

I thought that I'd start by posting the last quilt I finished (full size that is - I've finished a few charity quilts and smaller wall hanging type quilts). This is quilt an accomplishment for me as I tend to hand quilt everything.....so it does take a while. And.....I think that I quilted this one within' an inch of its life! I quilted the wineglass pattern through all the blocks and in my infinite wisdom (VBS) I thought that it would be wonderful to have each large star have a different quilting pattern. There are twenty stars. By the time I got to about the 15th star - I'd run out of ideas - but I searched through magazines and books and was able to finish the rest.

I think that this would be a great stashbusting pattern. I've never done anything in this colourway before and it doesn't match a single thing in my house - but I just loved the fabrics and had to do it. So, now it sits on top of a cupboard in the family room - all folded up - seems like a shame - but it made me happy to do it.

The first picture is actually the back of the quilt (hey - I'm a blogger novice!). I used the remainder of the fabric from the front and a bit of purple that I had in my stash, as well as some extra squares that I had made for the front. Don't know if I'd do this again. But it makes for an interesting back and a reversible quilt. Hard to hand quilt through though with all those seems.

This is a pattern by Glad Creations - they have wonderful patterns that bust stash and look great and their instructions are wonderful!
